ICONS:
Blissful Fangirl Moment: I have a bad habit of stealing people's LJ icons, sometimes even going so far as to rummage through their entire userinfo looking for ones I like. =D Naturally I always credit, but it's definitely an addiction. Anyway, I don't remember specifically where I got this one, but I've been using it lately because I always need a fangirl icon (with all the squeeing I do over so many things, they're kind of a necessity) and this one seemed very funny and appropriate. I often feel like apologizing for my "fangirl moments" where I've been known to go off at a hundred miles an hour rambling about something the people around me find totally incomprehensible.
Genius A Doctor Who quote, of course! I have several versions of this one and felt like using the white one this time. I picked it up recently from a post in my favorite Doctor Who icons comm. :) I use it because I have a very high opinion of my intelligence, and often feel like I'm the only smart person in the room.
SQUEE! Picked this up from someone who commented in a DW icon post (again, from the DW comm indirectly). See, I told you I root through people's userinfos for icons. Anyway, if you don't know, the character pictured here is Claire Bennet, from
Heroes, a show I love. (It's a lot like a watered down version of X-men minus the crazy costumes) It was just so sparkly and pink and pretty that I thought it would be nice to have. :) Like a fangirl icon, I always need a SQUEE icon (or a similar form of exuberant expression) to cover all those moments when I'm just too excited to say anything else. (I have many of these.)
INTERESTS:
ace My favorite Doctor Who companion. Yes, I know, I love Rose too, but even though Ace never absorbed the entirety of the time vortex she did beat a Dalek to death with a baseball bat and has put her mind/body/soul on the line for the Doctor a number of times without even questioning it. She was the second companion of the Seventh Doctor (who as you know is my favorite Doctor) and while they had their disagreements, Ace kicks ass. She blows stuff up on a regular basis, isn't afraid to let you know exactly how little she thinks of you (many of my creative insults come from lines Ace has had), and she believes in the Doctor 100%. I adore her.
feasting on asphalt For this you should probably go to Wikipedia. It's a show done by Alton Brown, in which he travels through the country on his motorcycle looking for out of the way places to eat hardcore American "road food". It's funny, informative, and even kind of touching in spots. The episode where he reached the ocean made me a little teary. :) A second season of Feasting comes out this August, and if you want to learn about America and it's food--this is the show to watch.
sock puppet yeast This is something from Alton Brown's original show, Good Eats. Every time he explains what yeast is and what it does and how, these little sock puppets with wild eyes and things sticking out of their head appear on the screen and fart and burp loudly to illustrate yeast's purpose in bread. It's hilarious. Once he even had some "wild yeast" on the show, and they wore little leather biker jackets and sunglasses and looked really punk and hardcore. Talking about sock puppet yeast is a sure sign you've met a hardcore Good Eats geek. *guilty as charged* ♥

OK, that's my stuff in a nutshell. Anybody else want to have a go? :)
