The Nature of Reality
It's in such good condition it almost doesn't seem possible, but it seems to geuninely be 100 years old. The copyright date says it was published in 1905, and the material inside of it seems consistent with that date. It's a book of questions for teachers to pose to their students, the correct "answers" for each question. It covers everything from geography to algebra to history. One section I browsed through when dad handed it to me was about Chinamen immigrating to America in the 1800s, and different laws that were passed that basically turned them into slaves. Another question was "name seven U.S. generals" and it gave the answers of generals that have been dead for about a hundred years. It's sort of a guide book to teaching, and even has a forward talking about the art of school teaching. I can imagine bored children stuffed into tiny, hot school rooms, watching their teacher carry this book everywhere with him (or her) and itching to get a look inside so they could pass their test without any effort.

Some snaps from the webcam.

♥ books. =D

I'm going to read it cover to cover and continue to try and see if I can find out anything about it online. Searchs on Amazon and Wikipedia turned up very little that was useful. I wish there was someone I could take it to to get it appraised or at least examined, to see if it really is that old and if it's worth anything.

What a cool thing!
